I've been running with this shoe for about 2months now. I have been using them during wet or muddy weather to run around 5k every day. I'd say the biggest negative is these puppies take forever to break in around the collar of the shoe. There seems to be extra firm padding in the collar area and it was hard enough to give me a bruise from wearing it 5 days straight. I took a break from them for a couple of days to give the area right below my ankle a break. I still think that area needs some work, but I either broke them in enough or my foot has become accustomed to the shoe.These shoes might be intended for someone who is looking for extra padding. They feel a little heavier than my Brooks Launch. But they are very comfortable and the extra weight hasn't slowed me down. It's weird, but for some reason my pace is 20-25 seconds faster when wearing these as opposed to my Brooks.I hate to say how the sizes run, because I don't think the size of a shoe matters as much as the size of your feet changing. But I ordered what i thought was a half size too small and I've got enough room to go at least a half size even smaller and still have these fit properly.I would definitely buy these again and plan on doing so soon. If you're just getting into running, I would highly recommend a shoe like this. There's no need to drop $100+ on a shoe that won't do anymore for you than this shoe would.i walk a lot as well as run. for a number years i used these asics for walking. they very comfortable and provide good support. this seller prices them fairly and ships asap.This is my fourth pair of Asics. I purchased two of the same model, and two other models. I buy the same size and width each time, and they fit me just right. My podiatrist told my wife and I that Asics are the only shoes he wants us to wear for walking. I walk about 3.5 miles, Monday - Friday. The Asics usually last about 18 months. They are comfortable and I will continue to purchase Asics when I need new shoes.I am returning the product. It is too short and the toe box is very tight. I have had 4 pair of ASICS shoes in size 11 1/2. All have fit very well. This pair is very tight in the toe box and the right shoe is very short even though the shoes are in 11 1/2.Actually, these are not women's. This is like my 5th pair of the gel flux. I have had versions 2-5. I hope they don't stop making because they fit good. The secret is the independent plastic truss between toe and heel sole sections. This minimizes twisting and allows the heel to anchor the shoe and minimizes supination (rolling to outside). This results in more even wear and less stress on both the shoe upper and sole. This means they last much longer. My other secret is shoe trees. These cedar forms are placed inside the shoes immediately after wearing drying them and retarding bacteria which would otherwise weaken the uppers.I tried the ASICS Gel Flux 5 hoping that they might wear better than other shoes I have tried from both New Balance and Nike. I was VERY disappointed to find they wear MUCH WORSE. These are almost worn through at only 189 miles of pretty moderate WALKING...I can only imagine how few miles they might last if I RAN in them.The quality of shoes from established brands seems to be declining in general. A bottle of rubber cement is around $5 and the taps came from the plastic tops off the bottles of Honest Tea I normally toss in the recycle bin, so material cost was low. This worked much better than the Shoe-goo I have tried in the past. While I did extend the life another 300 miles, I find the gluing got tedious after awhile...I can't recommend this idea to anyone who has an actual life, or is not totally broke. I'm staying away from ASICS in the future.Good shoe, very comfortable, unlike most ASICS the colors are low key. I buy a new pair every year.The first time I laced up the shoes their extremely comfortable like your walking on air. I had to exchange a 12 for an 11 1/2. The heel is different snug but not to where it hurts. The look of the shoes is top notch pretty fancy. I feel that these shoes can be used for work. Or if you need to flat out run you’re good hands. For the price you can’t beat it!There was an issue with delivery due to a problem with the delivery company. That said the trainer company responded quickly to my emails and tried to resolve the delays.I have used the trainers today and they are exactly as described.Good fit, no movement on the heal.Best running shoe I have bought.Comfortable with a good bounce.800 kilometres run so far.
