I broke these shoes in for 2 days doing errands then went out and blasted off a 14mi run. The Vazee Pace v2 with Protection Pack. WOW!These are serious neutral running shoes for runners with serious intentions. I hope folks dont jump in these, go to the gym and complain that they blew out the fore foot, or that they felt no support lifting or squatting. That is not what these shoes are for. I got these with some concern as my feet tend to use all of the space in a 13D shoe. My actual size is probably 13.25 with width somewhere between medium(D) and wide (2E). So I suffer not finding a 13D that fits when I really like a shoe. The Vazee Pace v2 With Protection Pack is a HOME RUN. Unlike most GTX (GoreTex) shoes that are constricting and hot with minimal airflow these shoes allow decent toe splay while providing support and are a bit more permeable to airflow. That being said the main reason I purchased these shoes was for my "rain runs". Rain had fallen the day before my run so I didn't get a chance to really get them wet but the remaining splashes I got from puddles were shrugged off by the Protect Pack coating. No more cold toes and socks. Traction on wet pavement was much better than other shoes I have and the outsole while not being highly flexible like a Hyperspeed 6 is quite good. Expecially seeing how durable the rubber chosen by NEW Balance is. The stack height is low and the drop feels really nice. Cushioning is not a strong suit but these are not maximalist shoes. The road feel is refreshing and responsive without being tiresome. Good thoughts went into making these.Myself? Athletic, built like a football safety/running back. 5'11" 198lbs. 35mi. per week. 8 shoes in my rotation all neutral format. Asics, Adidas, Astra, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Newtons, and Saucony.I thought I was going to return the shoes, but now I love them. Initially they felt uncomfortable, but I wore them all day to run errands, and then went for a 5mile run in the rain. The inside of the shoe keeps your feet dry from the elements, and they are perfect for the road, or the track. The shoes are stylish, I bought a pair for my wife as well. I love NB because I have wide feet, but since this protective pack Vazee didn't come in wide, I bought a half size up.This technique worked with my other NB shoes (574s) but this shoe is a narrower cut then the 574. The only other minor issue I have with the shoes are the low heel support. The back heel cup is a low cut so (at first) it felt like my foot was not all the way in the shoe.Like I said above, it only took a day to get used to them and break them in for running.PROS -very light- stylish- glow in the dark- keeps dry- good tractionCons- heel cut is low and takes a little to get used to- doesn't come in wide (runs true to size, but since I have wide feet I got a half size up- Could use a little more cushion for my preference (my fresh foam Hierro Trail V2s felt great right out of the box)I'm a girl who refuses to wear shoes with white on them, so I ordered this men's shoe and so far, so good. It's a little bit stiff, but the shoe felt good on my 2.5 mile run and provides good, neutral support. Has a really wide sole under the balls of your feet, which I think works well to keep you your toes while running. I"m not a big runner (honestly, I hate it), but I do it and my run in these shoes was my fastest time yet, so I'll take it. The lacing goes up a little high across the top of my foot, so I had to skip the last (or first) set of holes to give my feet some breathing room. Overall good shoe, good design, color is bright and really pops and the glow in the dark features are super cool, too. These are great shoes for winter running. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but they have done sterling duty in the cold and wet of early winter in the NYC area. Be warned that the sole does not have an off-road tread, and won't help you out in deep snow. I came to New Balance shoes after running in the Brooks PureFlow for a few years. When Brooks revamped -- and frankly, ruined -- the shoe for the PureFlow 5, I shopped around for a good, low-drop minimalist shoe, and settled on the New Balance Zante Foam, and the Vazee. These are great, minimalist shoes (basically the same design) with just enough cushioning, a 6mm heel-to-toe drop, and good road feel. I am thrilled that New Balance has this winterized version. As with most shoes for running, you should buy a size-up from your dress and casual shoe size.If you like glowing in the dark, pounding out a few miles on the pavement, and want a shoe that will help you to do it the Vazee Pace 2.0 is a great option. Although they feel a little on the heavy side at 9.9oz, the heel padding helps to keep you on your toes and absorb landings. The tounge also glows in the dark and the reflective material on the heels does reflect light, although I have had anyone drive by me to see exactly how reflective that piece is in all actuality. My husband bought it for work since he is an Amazon driver and has to deliver 250+ packages everyday. He loves the shoes because on rainy days, they come pretty handy. They really are waterproof as advertised and keeps his feet dry. Plus, they're really comfy (much needed since they overwork him everyday at work!)These shoes were great. Keep in mind that these shoes have a flat sole. If you are looking for something with better support than your average shoe, these are not the ones. But if you need some flat soled shoes for working out, these are great.Awesome shoe! Great fit. I usually wear 11 1/2 to a 12. The 11 1/2 fit perfect. The glow-in-the-dark looks really cool. I'm ordering my second pair just to keep in the box when these ones wear out.
