I have been an Asics guy for 25 years. I have tried other brands, and always come back to Asics. My favorite Asics shoes of all time are the 2160 and 2170 series from a few years back; I could pound the pavement (and I'm a heavy runner of about 200 lbs) for up to 80 miles a week with no injuries. When they reset back to the 2000 series a couple of years ago, I found that the shoes were fine, but didn't seem to fit quite as good. The 2000 series 3 seemed to be back in line with the fit of the 2170, so I loved those. So on the 2000 series 4. I have been wearing a pair for about 3 months, and overall they felt great right off the bad. Nice cushioning, nice fit, not too rigid. Well, it only took about two months for holes to be worn on the toe boxes. My feet are a bit wide, so I wear 2EEs (and I wear standard width for my racing shoes), so I was surprised that the width was so tight on these. I have ordered another pair but with 4EE width, so hopefully those will last better without wearing holes through the toe box material. In summary, I rank these behind the GT 2000 series 3 (due to fit), but they are still a great shoe that can accommodate high mileage runners.
