I'm an avid tennis player when I rolled my ankle 2 years ago I was never the same. Doctors told me part of the issue is low arches and moderate/to severe overpronation. I tried tennis sneakers, I tried New Balance, nothing helped. I made the switch to Asics and have been wearing these Gel Foundation 13s along with the Gel Kahana 8 and both have made a huge difference in relieving pain and helping my recovery to just about 100% now, playing match tennis again finally (in my Gel Resolution 7s). I'm all about Asics now. My only knock on this shoe is the material is such that in cold weather your feet will get cold without thick socks, and any sort of water will saturate through the shoe pretty quickly. The toebox is a bit loose for a normal fit, some folks seem to love that while others don't. Anyone writing bad reviews about the fit of these sneakers probably has a neutral or supinated (underpronated) foot. I know what I'm talking about after two MRIs and 4 doctors and lots of PT rehab learning about this stuff. Asics knows what they're doing, make sure you know what type of foot you have and only go with the right Asics models before you mislead other shoppers about the sneaker sucking. This was the greatest shoe for those of us with really bad arches, but they have quit making them. Otherwise, if you are blessed enough to find a pair and need this level of support, then buy them quickly. At first the shoes seemed to have good correction for over-pronation, but before long, excess interior softness became evident, even so much as to pose a hazard when on stairs, compounded by the heels jutting so far back as to catch on rug edges (twice!). The "mushy" problem seems to come from the cushiony inserts 7mm/5-16th" thick. These shoes require extra caution and careful railings use on stairways. This care is not particularly needed with my New Balance (1340 V2) or Brooks ("DNA" on soles; NFI now), or for my Nike Tailwinds (antipronation) in the past. Until I focused attn on these inserts, I was ready to donate these Asics--which are of quite good quality except as above--to my fav. thrift store. I will buy firmer inserts and hope, but the thrift store might still win. TBA.I had ordered a different pair of Asics a few months back. To be sure of the fit I took the to the indoor shopping mall in my backpack. II put on the new (other model) Asics shoes and the toes box was too tight but I walked the inside of the mall for two hours to see if it would stretch a little. I returned those and ordered these. Sure enough these fit well from the start!I say to all:1. Don't assume the fit of one model from one brand will be the same as another model from the same brand, and2. If you're not sure of the fit walking around the inside of your home take any new shoe to a larger indoor place to walk and see how they do. You never know if they'll turn out to be good.Of course they'll let you return undamaged shoes you've never used outside. This is a shoe recommended by my podiatrist. He stated I needed a mobility shoe and pointed out certain shoe construction. He wore this himself so I decided to take the plunge. I was wearing addidas ultra boost which I found comfortable but I injured myself on a short run. I haven't own Asics for a long time and found this shoe to be true to size. I feels good and toe box is true to size with extra room. I changed the insole to superfeet blue but go custom to fix my issue. If you have feet problems, I recommend see a podiatrist first. So far it has been working well for me.I suffered for a year with Achilles Tendinitis in both legs, thanks to a poorly made pair of orthotics. My PT recommended these and they helped solve the problem in just a few months. This is the 4th pair I've had. Asics, in their wisdom, decided to discontinue the "Foundation" line and blend them with another line to create the GT 4000. I bought a pair of those and they were horrible. My PT even said she couldn't recommend them. So now the internet is the only place I can get a pair of, what are for me, lifesavers.I used to wear ASICS GT-2150s then the GT-2000s series. Tried these as I am a pronator with my gait. Very impressed with the fit, toe box is roomy and perfect shoe for pronators. It is important to know your foot type. Stability, Neutral, Motion control. These are considered Motion control shoes for people with probation issues and flat feet. I’m training for a 5K run. As a former runner getting back into the fold, these shoes will definitely take me from the training grind to the finish line! I’ve read bad reviews on this shoe on Amazon but not getting the right shoe for correct foot types may be a contributor fit issues. It important to know your foot type when purchasing running shoes.Searched the Internet some years ago for "Best Shoe for Plantar Fasciitis, and this shoe was rated very high, bought a pair, wore out, bought another, wore them out, then had to go on-line and Thank God mazon had them. I was hoping the price would have went down, but because they are so good, it didn't LOL. Love them and also get compliments on the colors.
